3.5" CREEPING WIRE VINE

Muehlenbeckia axillaris

USDA Zone 7-9 reliably;

Originating in Australia or New Zealand, this creeping vine has tiny, delicate leaves with reddish brown stems that remain beautiful and green throughout the winter. During the late spring they bloom small white flowers. It grows only 2-6" tall. This creeping, ground hugging nature makes it perfect for windy areas or difficult slopes.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Growing Muehlenbeckia requires finding the right spot for it to thrive. Creeping wire vine enjoys areas with full sun to partial shade. Well drained soil is just as important. If growing in a container, a draining hole is required. We use regular potting soil, but will layer small slate gravel to the bottom of the pot (1-2", depending on the size of the pot) & fill the rest of the pot with regular potting soil or a mixed CLM.

In ground gardening requires plants to be spaced 18-24" apart. Newly planted wire vines will set out shoots that will fill in the uncovered spaces. Water regularly until plants are well established, at which point watering can be cut back.

Pruning is optional, but can keep your plant(s) from getting out of control during growth months, where weather is warm & plants grow extremely quickly.

FERTILIZE

Fertilize your creeping vine with compost or a balanced fertilizer in spring, before new growth appears.

You will receive a 3.5" size bare root plant without a pot.
