BLACK PEARL PEPPER
Capsicum annuum

These Black Pearl Peppers were a HUGE hit last year during this season. Unlike last year, we are selling 3.5" plants instead of 1 gallons, but knowing the transformation this plant goes through as it matures makes me excited for customers to purchase a younger plant. Not only does the foliage turn from green to black, which make an incredible background for the bright purple flowers, but the peppers start out purple, turn to green, then black, & finally when they are a bright red color the peppers are ripe! Even more (!!), the peppers are HOT, HOT, HOT! With a 10,000 to 30,000 Scoville rating, they are 4 to 12 times more spicy than a jalapeño! If you pick the pepper while it is purple or black it will be much less spicy than if you wait until it is red & ripe 🌶.
These plants are really incredible & will sell quickly, so if you are looking to purchase one I would jump on it!
